Neil Cugley believes Folkestone striker Stuart King is capable of scoring 50 goals this season.
King took his tally to five with a hat-trick as Invicta continued their 100% start with a 3-1 win at Chipstead on Bank Holiday Monday.
Folkestone boss Cugley said: “Kingy’s hat-trick was superb and he worked a lot harder for the team, too.
“If he carries on like this and stays injury-free, he could be looking at 50 goals.
“We’d probably win the league if he did that. He’d score goals if you put him in Manchester United’s team.
“He gets a bit of criticism from fans when he stands around. He can be frustrating but the players love playing with him because they know he can win us a game.”
King (pictured) struck twice before the break and clinched victory with an outrageous chip late-on to secure Invicta’s third win in six days – all with the same XI – and though Cugley expects Invicta’s lack of players to catch up with them, for now, they are second in the fledgling Ryman League Division 1 South table.
He said: “We can’t keep this form up all year with so few players.
“It’s got to cost us eventually but everyone’s happy and you don’t feel tired when you’re winning matches.”
Invicta bid for a fourth straight league win against Eastbourne Town at Cheriton Road on Saturday (3pm).
They will be without striker Paul Jones, who is to have a scan on his injured groin on Thursday.
