Folkestone Invicta manager Neil Cugley is hoping Stuart King can shake off a hamstring injury in time for Saturday’s home game with fellow promotion chasers Dulwich Hamlet.
The in-form striker hobbled off at half-time during the 1-1 draw at Ryman Division 1 South leaders Bognor Regis Town last Saturday and Cugley said: "He’s going to be important to us in the final stages of the season, but, thankfully his injury comes at a time when there’s others around him in form, who are all helping push us in the right direction."
King had already netted his 14th goal in the last 12 games by the time he was replaced by Michael Everitt at Bognor on Saturday.
It marked Everitt’s 500th appearance for the club, the first Buzzlines Stadium player ever to reach the big landmark.
Cugley added: "It’s a tremendous achievement, especially for someone who’s still in his late 20s and been a part of the club since he was a youngster.
"He’s been a credit to the club since he joined and in the way he handles himself."
Third-placed Dulwich Hamlet come to the Buzzlines Stadium this weekend with their eyes on overhauling leaders Bognor Regis.
Cugley added: "It’s a massive game for us. We lost 5-2 there earlier in the season and I expect it to be a lively affair. They have a lot of pace
and are dangerous on the break.
"I don’t see the top three changing much before the end of the season.
"So I think it’s down to us, Maidstone and Worthing to fight it out for the next two places."
