Folkestone Invicta boss Neil Cugley says his side are back in the fight for survival in the Ryman League Premier Division.

Invicta ended a run of five defeats with a 1-0 win over Harrow last weekend and, despite a 2-0 home loss to Bury Town on Tuesday, they visit Billericay on Saturday with Cugley, pictured, in bullish mood about their chances of climbing out of the drop zone, with just one point separating the bottom five sides.

He said: "Saturday was a pleasing result. It got us back in the hunt again. We set out with a lot of confidence.

"It is important to have got a win from the two home games. If we hadn’t, we might have been struggling to keep up. It has given the whole club a lift."

Former Ramsgate striker Gary Lockyer came on in the latter stages against Bury and Cugley said: "He is only 18 and we’ll have a look at him. He’s not costing us anything and hopefully he can show us a few things."

Cugley has also brought in Dover academy keeper Ben Humphrey as back-up to Jack Delo, while winger Antonio Gonnella has joined Kingstonian.

Paul Jones has returned to training but is unlikely to feature at Billericay, although he could be on the bench for the trip to Hastings on Tuesday. Simon Austin (knee) and Roland Edge (hamstring), however, should be fit for Saturday.
