Folkestone manager Neil Cugley insists he is happy to bide his time where new signings are concerned.
Cugley, pictured, said: "At this time of year it’s all about waiting until things have settled down a bit and I don’t want to go chasing after players that the club can’t afford.
"Players will become available as the season approaches."
With Invicta still in the early stages of paying off their debts through a Creditors Voluntary Arrangement, Cugley can’t afford to make careless signings – but he will draw encouragement from the fact that he was in a worse position this time last year and still managed to guide Invicta to promotion from Ryman League, Division 1 South.
However, two members of that successful squad, Jimmy Jackson and Peter Williams, will no longer be around.
Jackson, 34, has called it a day because he is facing a knee operation in September, while striker Williams is joining Ashford.
Cugley said: "Jimmy has done a great job for us in the time he has been here and it’s also disappointing that Peter is joining Ashford but at the moment they are able to offer him more money than we are."
