Folkestone Running Club's Rona Loubser just failed to repeat last year's win in the Givaudan Ashford 10k.
Loubser, pictured, finished in 37min16sec, but was second behind Julie Briggs (36.04) of Arena 80. W40 silver medallist Jill Cliff (Deal Tri, 37.30) was third.
Jeff Pyrah, of Hastings AC, defeated a field of more than 900 finishers to win the men's title in 31.56 - taking the British Masters M40 crown. Dan Bradley of Tonbridge (32.24) was fourth.
Kent athletes who gained national recognition included defending M50 champion Graeme Saker (Tonbridge, 34.16). Saker finished in an excellent eighth place overall in the race.
Damian Coleman (Deal Tri, 34.42) was the third M40 and there were medals for M45s David Weekes (Folkestone, 35.05) and Barry Royden (Medway and Maidstone, 35.25) and silver for Tony Tuohy (Dulwich, 34.46) in the M50s.
Silver was the reward for M70 Glyn Jenkins (Thanet, 47.22), bronze for M75 William Figgins (Folkestone, 55.23) and a well-deserved gold for the remarkable M80 Joe Cleverley (53.09) of New Eltham.
Barbara Ockendon (Istead and Ifield, 47.20) is the new W55 champion with Janice Moorekite (Invicta, 50.24) collecting bronze. Ros Tabor (Dulwich, 43.55) and Sue James (Paddock Wood, 46.46) also medalled in the W60 class behind Zina Marchant (43.40) of Team Bath.
