A fundraiser for a one-eyed dog which needs surgery is being led by an Ashford man.
Dogs Primrose and Paisley have been rehomed after being allegedly mistreated.
The fundraiser, launched by Mark Godden, says Primrose – a brown and white pooch – has lost an eye which "clearly hasn't been surgically removed and will no doubt be infected and will need ongoing proper treatment".
He added: "Paisley is covered in cuts and we have just found out is also pregnant, no doubt not for the first time. She is so scared that just putting her down on the floor even just for a few moments causes her to shake uncontrollably in fear."
Their new owner, named as Debby, had to pay more than £800 to get them out of the "horrible environment", leaving her with "very little immediate funds to get them the treatment they desperately need."
The fundraising page said: "As anyone who knows Debby will agree she has done this countless times for a whole host of animals, from pigs to lambs to horses and not once ever asked for help, financing this all herself."
After a trip to the vets, Mr Godden said it appears Paisley was beaten and has a fractured knee which is also causing issues with her hip.
