A gold watch and a purse was swiped from a house in Egerton during a burglary over the Christmas period.

It happened while the residents were away from their property in Crocken Hill Road, Egerton from midday on December, 29 to midnight.

A purse containing cash and bank cards and a gentleman's watch has been reported stolen.

The watch had a white face with Roman numerals, a gold coloured case and a brown leather strap.
