A pet owner has appealed for help to track down a budgerigar which has flown from its aviary in a village.
Susan Vadencourt, of Chequers Park in Wye, says her green and yellow budgie Molly went missing on Saturday. It is her last budgie after Molly’s companion died last year.
The neo-natal nurse says the bird flew out of the front door, but is a very frail bird which might not stand the cold.
Ms Vadencourt said: “Molly flew out into the dark, and I’m starting to turn frantic with worry. It has been such a shock to me as she has been my companion when I’m at home I hope she can be returned.
“I’ve been round to my neighbours and I’ve sent out flyers. She is very friendly and the type of bird that would land on your shoulder.
“She won’t like the cold because she is a very old bird. While she does fly around in the aviary, she is too frail to be outside.”
Ms Vadencourt has a large aviary at the back of her home, where her budgies can fly about and get exercise, and also come into her home if they are cold.
It is not the first time she has lost a pet budgie, in 2013 Bramley flew off, in 2015 Baby also flew off, then last year Charlie flew off but was later returned.
