An Audi has ploughed through the large window of a block of flats prompting a heavy emergency response.
The car came to a stop inside an empty room at the bottom of the Prince Albert Apartments in New Street, Ashford.
The silver vehicle is thought to have been involved in the smash earlier this morning.
Police, fire and ambulance crews have been pictured at the scene, with officers remaining onsite clearing up damage left behind after a window was smashed when the car hit it.
A Volkswagen with dents to its rear passenger door is also near the scene with a police car parked in front of it.
A police spokesperson has confirmed a man has been arrested on suspicion of being under the influence while driving.
“It was reported that a silver Audi A4 had collided with a blue VW Passat. The window of a building was also damaged during the collision,” they said.
“A man was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence while driving. He suffered injuries not believed to be serious and was taken to the William Harvey Hospital.”
A spokesperson for the fire services added the team was called just before 9.30am following reports a vehicle had crashed into a property.
“One fire engine attended, however, all persons were out on arrival and no action was required,” they said.
Firefighters left the scene at 10.15am.
