Police are investigating reports that a schoolboy was robbed on his way home.

A man ran up to the 11-year-old in Ashford, grabbed his neck and tried to grab his school rucksack.

Fellow pupils arrived and the offender ran off with the boy’s gloves.

It happened at 3.30pm on Monday as the victim was walking home from Christchurch School in Millbank Road along an alleyway towards Britannia Lane.

Police are looking for a man described as slim, white, 6ft tall with black hair and wearing a grey hooded top, dark trousers and white trainers.
