Hythe boss Scott Porter is calling on his players to launch one big push towards the play-offs asking them: "How much do you want to get there?"

The call comes as they prepare for what could be a make-or-break March, with eight games to come in the next month, starting with the visit of second bottom Walton Casuals on Saturday followed by a trip to Burgess Hill on Wednesday.

Porter (pictured) said: "It’s a question I have put to them in training this week, do we want it enough? There are probably six sides claiming two places at the moment and we want to be one of them.

"We are heading into the final stage of the season and it’s time for us to come to the table.

"Dulwich and Maidstone are probably battling it out for the title, Faversham keep grinding out results, as are all the other teams around us."

Porter, meanwhile, is hoping for good news about midfielder Nick Barnes who suffered a knee injury in the 3-1 win against Corinthian-Casuals earlier this month.

He said: "Nick was injured after falling awkwardly during the game and the swelling has only just gone down. He is due to have a scan next week, when we will find out more about the injury.

Visitors Casuals slipped up 4-1 at home to Chipstead in midweek but have won on three out of their last four trips, a winning run ended by a 4-0 loss at Leatherhead on Saturday.

Defender John Walker is another injury doubt after being forced off at half-time against Merstham last week with a knee injury.
