Hythe's players and coaching staff take
a break at training ahead of the FA Cup tie against Hereford
by Alex Hoad
Scott Porter is in bullish mood ahead of Hythe’s historic FA Cup
first round trip to nPower League 2 side Hereford on Saturday.
The Town boss says his side have every chance of pulling off one
of the biggest FA Cup shocks in recent memory when they travel to
Edgar Street despite being the lowest-ranked team left in the
competition.
Hythe are also the first Kent League team to reach the first
round proper since 1953 when Margate achieved the feat.

players on their upcoming match
Porter watched Hereford’s 2-2 draw at home to Aldershot on
Tuesday, which saw the Bulls move out of the relegation zone for
the first time this season but said his side – who will head West
on Friday and return on Sunday – have nothing to fear.
He said: "They were quite ordinary and if we can stop them
playing, then we have every chance."
Porter admitted he would have some ‘difficult’ decisions to make
about who to leave out of the side for Saturday’s game but said:
"We have a fully-fit squad and don’t need to change too much from
our previous games."
He insisted: "We are not going there to enjoy the occasion and
roll over and then go for a jolly-up. We will give it our all and
I’m confident we can get something, whether it is a win or a draw
to bring them back to our place."
