Scott Porter has vowed to ring the changes after watching his ‘unprofessional’ players fall to an 8-0 Boxing Day derby demolition at Folkestone.

The Hythe boss says some of his squad will never play for the club again and suggested too many of his players were off the pace after over indulging on Christmas Day.

He said: "Every single player has to take a long, hard look at himself. It was totally unacceptable. I am still gobsmacked.

"I have lived in Folkestone all my life and I’m the one who has to show his face in public. They have embarrassed me. It was the worst day of my life. I can’t believe it."

He added: "I wanted to leave at half-time. I just wanted the ground to open up and swallow me but I have to stick around.

"You have to be a man about it and show your face, even though you feel like everyone’s laughing at you."

Town visit Faversham in Ryman League Division 1 South on Saturday and Porter said: "Of course I’m expecting a backlash but I just want us to be consistent.

"You can’t lose 5-0, then beat the title favourites then lose 8-0. It can’t happen like that."
