The father of a murdered teenager found decapitated in Ashford more than a decade ago says he will "campaign until the day he dies".
Ashley Dighton, 19, was last seen on June 11, 2007, at Sainsbury’s Bybrook and his headless body was found in woodland adjoining the nearby Warren Retail Park a month later.
His death remains a mystery and police have never found his killer.
Ashley’s dad, Ambrose Dighton, says he is determined to get justice for his son.
“I can still remember the event of 11 years ago like it was yesterday," he said.
"And what I would like is for the police to knock on my door and tell me they have caught my son’s killer.
“Until this is done and dusted I will keep on campaigning for my boy until the day I die.
“Life is hard still, I used to be able to go out a lot more to other places in Kent, but now I find it hard to go out.
“I get a couple of hours sleep a night, that’s it, but you’ve just got to keep going.
“I try to move along with my life but I can’t, I can just do my best.”
Mr Dighton has taken part in video appeals, featured in magazines and even made an appearance on The Jeremy Kyle and Trisha Goddard shows in a desperate bid to find out what happened to his son.
He also visited psychic Keith Charles, a former Metropolitan Police CID officer.
An inquest into Mr Dighton’s death in December 2008 recorded an open verdict after the coroner heard that his badly decomposed body was found covered with branches.
Ashford Coroner’s Court also heard that one of his ribs and his t-shirt had been removed and placed in a plastic bag. His head has never been found.
Police spokesman Steve Knight said there are no new developments but the investigation is still active.
He said: "The death of Ashley Dighton in 2007 remains unresolved but we will, as with all undetected cases, actively investigate any new lines of enquiry that come to light.
"A single point of contact has been working with the victim’s family and detectives remain keen to hear from anyone who can assist the investigation."
