An inquest has been opened on the case of a retired accountant killed by a gunshot.
Peter Hart, 71, was confirmed dead at his home in Muscovy Road, Kennington, a coroner was told yesterday.
Coroner’s officer Guy Miller told the hearing police said there was no third party involvement in the tragedy.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Thursday, April 9, and Mr Hart was pronounced dead just before 9.30pm that day by an ambulance crew.
A post mortem examination at Ashford’s WIlliam Harvey Hospital confirmed that Mr Hart died from head injury due to a gunshot.
He was identified through his passport by Mr Miller.
Central and South East Kent Coroner Rachel Redman, at Folkestone Magistrates Court, adjourned the inquest for a date to be fixed.
