An Ashford dad has been described as an "inspiration" and "true fighter" after losing his battle with cancer.
Jez Double, 44, died on Thursday (October 4) after he was admitted to Pilgrim's Hospice.
The father-of-one, of Bowens Field, was diagnosed with melanoma cancer in March 2015, which returned despite his undergoing two operations and radiotherapy.
During his three-and-a-half-year fight he poured energy into raising money for Pilgrim's, which he credited with 'saving his life', with a tattoo fundraiser and other events.
Family and friends have been leaving the popular Dad messages of love and goodbye on Facebook.
Niece Jade Kennedy wrote: "He was more than an uncle to us, more like a dad, a best friend, a role model not only for me for my son too.
"He was there for me and Tommyjohn always, even when he was suffering himself, he always thought about other people first.
"My son will forever be reminded how much of a good man he was. and how much he loved him.
"Sweet dreams uncle Jez."
Roxanne Day wrote: "My heart is absolutely broken.
"Sleep tight my dear friend Jez Double you will be massively missed."
And Joseph Angleterre wrote: "Rest in peace my old friend.
"You put up one hell of a fight. I have huge respect for you."
