Firefighters deal with suspected arson attack in Adams Drive, in Willesborough, Ashford

Firefighters dealt with a suspected arson attack in Ashford overnight.

Crews were called to Adams Drive, in Willesborough, at 12.45am following reports a fire had started near the front door of a two-storey house.

Using breathing apparatus, two teams entered the property. A ventilation fan was then used to clear the smoke from the home.

Luckily, no one was in the house when the fire started.

Police were also called to the scene due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire.

This morning, a police spokesman confirmed the incident is being investigated.

They said: "Police were called to Adams Drive, Ashford at 1am today (16 December) following a report of a fire.

"The incident is being treated as suspicious."

Fire crews left the road at 1.21am.
