Jobs axe hovers over Asda staff

SUPERMARKET staff may be out of work as Asda cut backs affect local stores in Kent.

Between four and five management staff from the store in Kimberley Way, Ashford, may lose their jobs in the large-scale cuts taking place across the country.

Spokesman Ian Cunningham said: "The average will be four to five people from each store at specific levels.

"We are going to attempt to redeploy people within the company."

More than 1,200 managers from Asda's 279 stores have been sacked suddenly.
