AUDREY LANCASTER, widow of former Ashford Town Football Club secretary Alan Lancaster, has died of heart failure in a London hospital. She was 77.

The duo were one of the longest serving partnerships in football adminstration with Mr Lancaster completing 52 years as Ashford's secretary. He died last year.

Mrs Lancaster was a vice-president of the Kent County Football Association and a honoured member of the Kent Referees Association.

She was known by referees all over the country and still regularly went to Ashford branch meetings.
