A Love Islander from Kent has split with her boyfriend who she met on the show.
Ella Barnes, who went to school in Tenterden and is from Ashford, has shared on her social media that her relationship with Mitch Taylor, from Sheffield, has “unfortunately” ended, with the pair living at opposite ends of the country.
The dancer and model said she “really wanted things to work out” and is “gutted” the relationship, which they made exclusive near the start of August, has ended.
“Just wanted to come on here and keep you all updated, as you deserve to know as I wouldn’t be where I am without you,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Unfortunately myself and Mitch have decided to end our relationship. I really wanted things to work out and I’m gutted that our journey has come to an end.
“I wish Mitch all the best and hope he finds his happiness. It is time for both of us to start a new chapter.
“Thank you so much for all the love and support, it means the world to me.”
Also sharing the update online, Mitch, who is a gas engineer said: “As you have most likely seen Ella’s post sadly our relationship has come to an end.
“We had no intentions of ending, but with our busy lives at the moment and living the other side of the country made it extremely hard for it to work.
“I wish Ella nothing but the best as she is a lovely girl and deserves the world.”
The pair were last spotted in Kent at the start of August when they took a trip to Folkestone.
Spending the afternoon exploring the harbour arm, Ella and Mitch kept fans updated by sharing the visit on Instagram stories.
The night before this, they attended an event hosted by Maybelline at Shoreditch House where they watched Canterbury pop-star, Mimi Webb.
Ella attended Homewood School in Tenterden before moving on to West Kent College and Ashford College, where she studied business marketing and law.
She is now a qualified make-up artist with her own business called Beauty By Ell, which is registered in Ashford.
She previously performed with the English Youth Ballet and won a national title for dancing.
And back in 2012, she had a starring role as an Olympic torch bearer as the flame passed through Kent.
The couple were dumped from the Love Island villa ahead of the final following a public vote.
Another Kentish contestant was triumphant with Sammy Root, from Dartford, and his new girlfriend Jess Harding crowned the winners.
