Sainsbury's stores in Kent have started selling giant tins of baked beans to meet growing demand.
Panic-buying and stockpiling sparked by the coronavirus outbreak has seen shelves in many supermarkets stripped of the popular tinned food.
So now Sainsbury's has boosted supply at 10 stores in the county by offering 2.4kg tins of baked beans provided by Kent-based firm Brakes.
The wholesaler tweeted about the move on Monday.
"In these challenging times it’s great that the food industry is pulling together," Brakes said.
"We are proudly supporting Sainsbury's in Kent currently getting vital supplies to people.
"Big thanks to Brakes and Sainsbury’s colleagues who have worked incredibly hard to make this possible."
Currently, Kent is the only county in the UK where shoppers can grab the mega-size tins, according to The Grocer.
But if the bumper helpings of beans and chopped tomatoes prove popular here, it could lead to a wider roll-out.
A Sainsbury's spokesman said: “This partnership is helping us meet the current high customer demand for key grocery products in Kent.”
Brakes was founded in Ashford by Frank Brake and his two brothers in 1958 - and was sold for £2.3 billion in 2016.
Frank's grandson Charlie, who appeared in the 2018 series of Love Island, could be set to inherit some of the fortune.
