A UK tourist has died in Colombia after being mugged while hiking along a mountain trail.
The 34-year-old is believed to have been hit over the head with the butt of a gun by muggers who stole his belongings.
He had hiked to the Hill of Three Crosses near the city of Medellín and was found critically injured at the bottom of the trail - two days after going missing.
The Daily Mail reports he was taken to a nearby health centre before being rushed to Medellín's General Hospital in a critical condition.
He had sustained multiple injuries which included head wounds and - despite life-saving surgery - he died just before midday local time on Wednesday.
The Mail reports how holidaymakers who have made the same hike have felt safe climbing the path, but warned against going late in the day when it starts getting dark.
No arrests have been made.
Colombian media initially reported how Kyle Mackenzie, 34, from Ashford, had died, but they have now stated this is untrue.
