Kev the sheep has become a bit of a celebrity.
The resident of the Karoben farm at Smarden has appeared on the Jonathan Ross show, nearly upstaging pop star Lady Gaga.
His starring role was explained by Carrie Anning, manager of Karoben, which is a farm teaching people with learning disabilities about animal and farm management.
Kev was on show at Karoben for the Open Farm Sunday at the weekend.
“The TV show was looking for a Jacob sheep as Lady Gaga wanted to give Jonathan Ross one as a stunt for a birthday present,” said Mrs Anning.
“Bob Geldof also keeps Jacobs and knew Lady Gaga’s manager. He suggested us after seeing us at an agricultural show where we were exhibiting.
“We were contacted through the Jacob Sheep Society and Kev was picked for the show.
“He was only a baby at the time and I think they liked the fact that his name was Kev rather than some long-winded breed name.”
The ram was transported to the TV studios and appeared in the green room alongside the other stars of the show.
“On the set he was very well behaved, although he did try to eat the plants,” said Mrs Anning.
“This all happened two years ago but there is still footage of it on YouTube. There was a lot of publicity – it was quite bonkers.”
