Leon Camier remains the front-runner to be handed the vacant ride at Aprilia in next season’s World Superbike Championship.
The Ashford biker stormed to the British championship this year and finished his season by making a guest appearance for the Aprilia team in the final two rounds of the world series in France and Portugal.
The factory team are looking for a partner to current rider Max Biaggi and Camier is being tipped as the man to take that role.
Camier, 23, spent this week with the Aprilia team testing their RSV4 machine in Misano, Italy.
With the top teams having already chosen their line-up for 2010, the battle for the Aprilia seat has been hot, with Ryuichi Kiyonari, Regis Laconi, Broc Parkes and Matthieu Lagrive all awaiting rides for next year.
Aprilia are expected to announce their completed line-up before the weekend.
