Leon Camier claimed his eleventh victory of the British Superbike Championship during an incident-packed day at Mallory Park.
A red-flagged opening race saw Camier (pictured) take second place behind James Ellison and he then went on to take victory in race two, which was again stopped early.
Ashford rider Camier started from pole but he was forced into taken evasive action, following an incident in front of him, which left him lying in 23rd position.
Luck returned for Camier late in the race when the leading six riders collided on the hairpin, allowing the Airwaves Yamaha rider to ride on and claim a second place position, as the race was stopped with seven laps to go.
Heavy rain and standing water ended the second race before its conclusion with Camier leading after a good scrap with Chris Walker and Richard Cooper.
Camier said: “As I had no experience riding the Airwaves Yamaha in the wet the plan was just to make sure I brought some points home. I didn’t think we could win.
“When we got out on track I found that the package the team had put together was awesome. I felt really comfortable and could build a gap.”
Camier now leads teammate Ellison by 75.5 points in the championship. The next round takes place at Brands Hatch on August 9.
