Lewis Hamilton’s world championship victory has been good news for Mercedes-Benz of Ashford.

The stockist of official Mercedes McLaren accessories says it has been inundated with calls from people keen to purchase merchandise associated with the newly-crowned champion - the youngest in the sport’s history.

Steve Dorrell, Mercedes-Benz of Ashford’s parts supervisor said: "Lewis’ victory has been fantastic for British sport and ourselves.

"Since we opened on Monday morning, we have received lots of telephone enquiries and had people calling in to buy our Lewis Hamilton accessories for themselves or their children.

"The baseball caps and t-shirts have been selling particularly well."
