A popular former takeaway cafe and sandwich shop is set to go up for auction.
Ye Olde Carvery, in Middle Row, Ashford, will go under the hammer during the online sale next week.
The guide price is £70,000 to £80,000 when bidding opens at midday on Monday.
The bakery had been a family business since the early 1970s but the premises were vacated this year when the lease ran out.
The successor business is The Tucked Away Take Away a few yards away, run by the same team behind Ye Olde Carvery.
The site is lot 154 on next week’s sale, which closes on Wednesday and is being run by land and property auctioneers Clive Emson.
The auction literature says: “This is an attractive attached period building which may be suitable for a variety of commercial uses, perhaps café, bakery, jewellers, etc., subject to all necessary consents being obtainable.”
It has single glazed timber framed windows and a glazed frontage.
The building is also Grade II-listed on the National Heritage list.
The total floorspace adds up to 63sq m over three storeys but it had a tiny customer area.
This meant at the time of the pandemic restrictions queuing customers had to spread out in line into the street.
