A tractor trailer overturned earlier this afternoon and caused scores of logs to spill on to the road near a busy roundabout on the A20 at Charing.

The police were called out to Maidstone Road, shorty after 4pm after the logs spilt on to the road and blocked one lane.

The incident is causing delays in the area but no injuries was injured.

Eileen Marden, who lives nearby was able to take this photographs of the scene and posted them on Twitter advising motorists to avoid the area.

The logs also caused damage to a nearby fence.

A spokesman for police added: “We were called at 4.36pm to reports a tractor trailer had overturned on the Maidstone Road in Charing.

“The trailer contained logs which had spilled onto the road and one lane is currently blocked.

“Police are at the scene and Highways has been notified.”
