A lorry crash brought traffic to a standstill on a busy A-road this morning.

The A28 Ashford Road, near Chilham, between Ashford and Canterbury, was blocked in both directions as efforts are underway to recover the vehicle.

Police were called to the incident at 10.17am following reports of a lorry leaving the road.

The road has now been cleared by officers and it has reopened in both directions.

No serious injuries have been reported.
