TOWN go into their Bank Holiday weekend double-header with manager Steve Lovell looking for his side to eliminate the errors that have dogged them during the opening week of the season.
Town fought back from 2-0 down to win 4-3 at Crowborough on Tuesday and Lovell admitted a few things had to be said at half-ime.
He said: "I had a few choice words in the dressing room during the break. Our defending was awful but we changed things around a bit and ended up securing a good win."
Another newcomer, Godalming Town, await Ashford on Saturday, before Whitstable travel to Homelands on Monday.
"Both games will be tough challenges," Lovell added. "But if we start bright and put in consistent performances, we won’t have too many problems.
"The majority of problems we encounter in this league are created by ourselves. If we get rid of them, the good results will follow."
Danny Brathwaite (groin) should be fit but striker Mark Lovell misses out after sustaining a slight cruciate ligament tear in his knee.
"Mark will need to rest for six weeks," said the manager. "It could have been a lot worse and he should be back playing before Christmas."
