Ashford was plunged into rush hour chaos last night after the M20 was closed when a lorry left the road and crashed into a tree, trapping the driver in the cab.
The incident happened near the Canterbury Road bridge on coast-bound carriageway near junction 9.
Fire crews from Folkestone and Dover were called to the crash shortly after 2.30pm. Police closed the road to allow them to free the man.
The condition of the driver is unknown, but both an ambulance and the air ambulance were called to the scene.
Kent Highways were also called to the crash to check the safety of trees which were damaged in the crash.
