Lengthy queues built up on the M20 coastbound near Ashford this morning after an accident on the motorway.

The crash between two cars happened between the M20's junctions 8 and 9 near the Ashford Eureka Park turn-off.

The accident happened between 7am and 7.15am but no injuries were reported.

Two fire engines, from the Maidstone and Ashford stations, were called in for crews to make the scene safe.

At one time queues of up to three miles were reported.
