A crash involving a lorry caused a major road to shut this afternoon.

The A28 Canterbury Road was closed in both directions at 1.30pm after the incident in Godmersham near Ashford .

A police spokesperson said the crash involved a lorry which left the A28 and ended partially in a ditch.

No injuries were reported and the road is currently closed while the vehicle is recovered - but is expected to be reopened soon.
