The two-car crash occurred between Magpie Hall Road and Church Hill, causing delays.

Traffic monitoring tool Inrix reported slow traffic in the area and asked drivers to approach with caution.

Traffic is currently building in all directions approaching the junction.

Police were called to the scene at 9.50 am this morning after the collision.

A spokesperson added: “Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and two people were taken to hospital.

“The road currently remains closed, and officers are working with partner agencies to reopen it.”

Previously, the junction near Ashford Cricket Club underwent improvements after being plagued by crashes.

There were three crashes over the course of eight days in December 2019, leaving one person in a serious condition.

This spate of incidents prompted residents living nearby to call on Kent County Council to review the junction and possible safety measures.
