A 42-year-old financial consultant has appeared before a court charged with murdering his wife.

Darren Chittenden, of Langney Drive, Ashford, was remanded in custody by the town's magistrates on Thursday.

Zarna Chittenden’s body was found in the bath at the family home on Tuesday June 28. She was aged 42.

The magistrates sent the case to Maidstone Crown Court for an initial hearing on August 12. There was no application for bail and Chittenden was remanded in custody.
