Man hit by car in accident in Charing Hill

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after an accident in Charing Hill.

Police and paramedics were called to the road, between Pilgrims Way and the A20 Maidstone Road, at 4pm.

The man, a pedestrian, was hit by a car and has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

A police spokesman said: "Officers are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision along Charing Hill involving a car and a pedestrian. We were called at 4.02pm.

"The pedestrian, a man, has been airlifted to a London hospital with injuries described as serious."

The road is currently closed in both directions.
