A man was arrested after failing a breath test at the scene of a crash in Ashford last night.

British Transport Police said officers were on route to a call when they were flagged down to an accident in Newtown Road.

The BTP Kent team said last night: “The offending vehicle had collided with the rear of another vehicle, thankfully nobody has been injured!”

“The male blew 51 at the roadside and is now on route to custody now where he will undergo an evidential breath test.

“He will stay in custody to sober up and face the consequences of his actions tomorrow morning.”
