A man was arrested after overturning his car on the M20 between Junction 8 (Maidstone services) and Junction 9 (Ashford).

Emergency services attended the scene on the coastbound carriageway at around 10pm last night.

Witnesses said that they saw a "horrible" accident while they were on the motorway.

Police officers arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of drink-driving.

The man, from Ashford, has since been released pending further enquiries.

No serious injuries have been reported.
