Ashford man arrested after car travelling wrong way crashes off A2070 Bad Munstereifel Road near Park Farm roundabout

A man was arrested and taken to hospital after a crash involving a car travelling in the wrong direction off a busy dual carriageway.

Police say a white Ford panel van was driving down the eastbound one-way slip road onto the A2070 Bad Munstereifel Road from the Park Farm roundabout in Ashford when it crashed into a blue Ford Focus car.

The car was travelling in the wrong direction when the incident happened at about 6am on Saturday.

A police spokesman said: “A man was treated at the scene by paramedics.

“A second man, aged 47 and from Ashford, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving before being taken to a local hospital for treatment.

“He has been released on bail.”

Officers are appealing for anyone who might have been in the area at the time and saw anything or has dashcam footage which could assist inquiries to contact police on 01843 222289, quoting 46/177328/24.
