A man has been arrested after apparently being caught performing an 'indecent act' in a park.

The suspect was stopped from running by members of the public after being spotted in Victoria Park, Ashford last night.

Police were called to the park, reportedly in an area close to the playground, following reports that the man had been seen "committing an indecent act", according to a police spokesman.

Officers arrested the man, who was still being detained by members of the public, on suspicion of indecent exposure.

He remains in custody while inquiries into the incident continue.
