Suspected shoplifter charged after meat and cheese stolen from Morrisons Daily in Singleton and Co-op in Loudon Way, Ashford

A suspected shoplifter has been charged after more than £300 worth of meat and cheese was swiped from two convenience stores.

Police launched an investigation after the Co-op store on Godinton Park and Morrisons Daily in The Singleton Centre, both in Ashford, were targeted earlier this month.

In total, an estimated £369 worth of goods were stolen from the two shops.

Police say six incidents were reported to them between August 1 and August 18.

Robert Bishop, 37, of no fixed address, was charged with shoplifting offences and remanded to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today.
