Man due in court after Ashford International Station stabbing

A man was left with wounds to his face after being stabbed at a Kent train station.

A man and a woman were arrested, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and affray respectively, following the attack at Ashford International on Monday night.

The victim was rushed to hospital, where he was treated for a laceration on his face.

And today, detectives have confirmed that a suspect has been charged in relation to the incident.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "The incident at Ashford International left a male with wounds to his face caused by a knife.

"Kai Laing, of London Road in Canterbury, was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

"The 21-year-old was conveyed to police custody before appearing at Folkstone Magistrates Court today."

The victim's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.
