A man has been deported after trying to pull a knife on police officers.
Kuislend Dishi, of Tufton Street, Ashford , is among 12 criminals deported yesterday to Albania by the Home Office.
The 25-year-old thug was arrested on March 4 after a woman reported being followed.
The day before he had contacted the woman - whom he knew - with threats to kill her and suggesting he had a gun.
On the day of his arrest he approached and grabbed her, pulling her towards his car.
When police arrived he tried to pull out a five-inch fixed-blade knife, but was prevented from doing so.
He freed himself and ran off, but was detained by a chasing policeman after a member of the public intervened.
He was charged and later convicted of assaults on two emergency workers, a malicious communications offence, one charge of a common assault and one of having a bladed article.
Despite denying the offences, he was jailed in April at Canterbury Crown Court for a year and eight months.
Speaking about the deportations, Home Secretary Priti Patel said: “The message from these deportations is clear. If you come to this country and abuse our hospitality we will deport you.
“The UK is a safer place without these criminals on our streets.”
Further deportations are anticipated in the coming weeks.
