A man in his 30s has died after he crashed into a bridge at a motorway junction.
The driver was rushed to a London hospital with serious injuries yesterday after his black Mercedes left the road and collided with a bridge on Junction 9 of the M20 in Ashford.
Emergency services were called at about 4.40am following the incident on the roundabout.
Two fire engines attended the scene, along with the ambulance service's hazardous area response team.
Fire crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the driver of the Mercedes A-Class, which was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
The man was treated for serious injuries before being taken by road to King's College Hospital.
But police have now confirmed he died this morning.
His next of kin have been informed.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the crash.
Officers would like to hear from any witnesses who saw the vehicle prior to the incident.
They would also like to hear from anyone with dashcam footage that may assist their investigation.
