A man has died after falling from the roof of a town centre car park.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, apparently fell from the top of the Wilkinson's multi-storey car park into Park Street in Ashford just after 10.45am on Sunday.

Paramedics were called to the scene but the man was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police closed the road to traffic and cordoned off the area to members of the public.

A police spokesman said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
