A Folkestone man has been remanded in custody after another was stabbed in the leg in a town centre brawl.

Daniel Brown, 24, of no fixed address, was charged with GBH with intent and possessing an offensive weapon.

He was remanded to appear again at a date to be fixed when he appeared before Canterbury magistrates today.

The injured man, aged 20 and from the Loughborough area, was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, where he is today said to be in a stable condition.

It comes after a section of Rendezvous Street in Folkestone road was cordoned off just after 7.30pm on Sunday night.

A suspect was initially held down by members of the public before police arrived.
