Three teenagers have been arrested after a man was allegedly robbed at knifepoint by a gang near a leisure centre.
The incident comes as it was revealed Kent has the fastest-growing knife-crime rate in the country.
The victim, who was in his 40s, was walking along a bridge in Tannery Lane in Ashford between 9pm and 10pm yesterday when he was set upon by a group of youths.
He suffered cuts and bruises and had his belongings stolen, including his wallet and phone.
Officers carried out a search of the area and located three teenagers who matched the description of some of the suspects.
Two 18-year-old men and one girl, aged 17, were arrested and remain in police custody.
A knife has also been seized.
Police believe there were members of the public walking along the bridge close to the Stour Centre at the time who could have seen something suspicious.
Anyone who witnessed the robbery is asked to phone Police on 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/43272/19.
