A man was injured in Godfrey Walk in Ashford last night (Sunday) in mysterious circumstances.

The 27-year-old had been walking with friends when a white van stopped in the South Ashford cul-de-sac at about 5.50pm.

The man was said to have gone to talk to the driver.

His friends then reported later seeing the van driven off and their friend was lying on the ground with a head injury.

He was taken to a London hospital and is understood to be in a stable condition.

Police made house to house inquiries and have now launched an appeal for any witnesses to the incident or anyone who saw the white van, said to be similar to a Ford Transit.
