Firefighters were called to a mobile home alight yesterday afternoon.

The fire in the caravan at Smarden, near Ashford, started just before 4pm.

Four fire crews used breathing apparatus and high-pressure hose reel jets to tackle the flames which had also spread to a car parked adjacent to the property.

The fire was out by 8.20pm.

The cause of the blaze is not known.
