More flats are set to be built on an abandoned social club which will be knocked down after more than 100 years.
Yellowstone 2023 Ltd is working on plans for up to 36 homes on the Ashford International Sports and Social Club site in Beaver Road.
Hoardings blocking off the building – which has sat derelict since it closed during the pandemic – appeared in November when a notice to bulldoze the clubhouse was approved.
Yellowstone 2023 Ltd, part of Sidcup-based developer Blackstone Estates, bought the site at the end of last year and says its proposals are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
Company director James Digges explained: “The plan is to demolish the existing building, which we already have consent to do, but we haven't got round to doing that yet.
“We hope to get somewhere in the region of 35 to 36 apartments on the site but that is up for negotiation.
“Plans could be submitted in the next two or three months.
“There is no timescale on the demolition, we can do it as and when we're ready.”
Previous plans for 31 flats on the land were rejected.
The former owners of Ashford International Sports and Social Club, alongside development firm Costplan Group, previously wanted to flatten the clubhouse and build a new one elsewhere on the site, alongside two apartment blocks up to five storeys high.
Ashford Borough Council (ABC) committee members said the development was needed to secure the long-term future of the club.
But the plans were snubbed because of concerns over the height of the blocks and the overdevelopment of the area.
The previous proposals attracted a number of objections, with one councillor claiming the designs would win a “gold medal” for “boring architecture”.

A fresh planning application to show how the apartments could look under the new ownership is expected to be submitted to ABC soon.
